Throughout the Move To Matter journey in Kenya, a brief stop at a chief’s meeting shows a large rooted tree in the center. This large rooted tree resembles not only the Kenyan people but also the richness of the country’s culture and history.
Move to Matter attended a village meeting held by a chief that brought villagers from miles away to come together as a community and learn how to better their lives. This meeting talked about balancing their diet with more vegetables rather than the traditional starch-based corn and Ugali. You cannot help to think that this tradition would date back thousands of years.
Kenya is a beautiful East African country filled with kind-hearted citizens and breathtaking landscapes. This tree featured above embodies how expansive the long history and culture is that is rooted in Kenya. When you go to Kenya, you are suddenly immersed in learning about customs and respected traditions that have allowed Kenya to stay strong since its beginning! The native people will welcome you with a warm heart, arms and smile.
More to come.
